Using System Restore...

I'm having a disagreement with a friend about how System Restore works....

Bottom line... if you go back to a previous restore point -- do you lose
(are they removed) any document files (whether jpg, doc, whatever) you've
created/saved since then -- or does it only effect system / application
files?

Is there a good place on the net you could point me to read more about this?

Thanks in advance.

Argument settled: System restore does not affect documents, pictures or
personal date. Clicking on system restore will tell you that
immediately.

It's actually a good question, since the definition of what constitutes
'personal data' varies.

For example, is a script or batch file that one has written a 'document'?
Some would think so. System Restore makes the decision for you and removes
such 'personal data'.

The moral of the story is don't believe everything you read on the 'System
Restore' tin.
