Using VOIP to land lines with Live Messenger in UK

Microsoft's partner in the UK for voice over internet terminating to a land
line is via Verizon. Verizon only offer the service in the UK using American
Express or Diners Card which are not the most popular credit cards in the UK.
Is there a way of using this service withount American Express/Diners Cards?

I don't believe so, and others have wondered about this in the past as well.

A better solution might be Skype as they take a variety of payment methods, but that's a
completely separate application.
