Using Windows ME - Can't download ANY updates

I'm using Windows ME and it's been several months since I've been able to get
any updates from:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

When I arrive at the URL above, the only thing written on the page is:

Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this
time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security
warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click Yes
to install the software

I have tried the following:

- I have left that particular page open for hours
- I have disabled my Firewall
- I have put my internet privacy options to accept all cookies

There is absolutely no indication of any progress, scanning, or downloading.
Can somebody please help me?

Just wait for it to finish. It may take MUCH longer than you have waited.
Leave it open for a day and if it doesn't work, get help from Tech support.
