i was using windows update

while using windows update my com was installing and do backup stuff my
labtop ran out battery now it wont turn on cause of configurationb problems
what do i do

use your windows CD to boot up the system and then try to get a system
restore from before the problem.

Boot to your CD, when the screen comes up asking if you want to "Install" or
Press "R" use repair console.

You will want to highlight "Install", press "F8" to agree to the EULA.

Next it will show your C:\Windows partition and if you read down below it
will say press "Enter" to install or press "R" to repair (If i remember
correctly).

Press "R" to repair from that menu and it will reinstall all of the system
files and should leave your documents untouched.

This process doesnt have a very high success rate, but since it sounds like
you back up your data it is worth giving a shot.
