Also when I run mbsa 1.2.1
failed to download office security update database

But if I run mbsa 2.0 it says:
failed to download office security update database...then it pops up saying
catalog file is damaged or invalid catalog.

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for the
success message):

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll

If you encounter any errors while registering any of the files then skip that file
and then continue with the next one (also note that there is a space after the 32).
Now try Windows Update again.

I need a activex control I saw where you could delete the v4 & reinstall new
one how do you do that for the v6 (I dont think I have 1 for this version)

Windows version? (Win9x still uses the V4 engine.)

It was painful but I fixed my problem.

I just didnt understand why if I was running xp why I could download v6.

But I fixed my problem & lost everything on my pc.

Formatted my harddrive (dont think thats the necessary move but I couldnt
get a activex installed)

couldnt download vs 6 (typo on previous post)
