I me getting "CreateObject for Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate failed: error
0x800401f3" in the windows update.log when trying to update windows XP
professional. Please help.

Hi,


What is the error your receiving when access the Windows update V5 site.
During the selfupdate it appear the registration of dll files may have
failed.

Please send me your Windowsupdate.log located in the Windows folder: Sent
the file to a-

It appears the wupai.dll is not getting registered. You can do this manually
by typing the following command in Start->Run

REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuapi.dll

Just go to the Windows Update site again after doing this and it should work
fine.

I was having the exact same problem as mentioned above, but thanks to Ravi's
suggestion my update functionality has been restored. Cheers Ravi
