validate windows

I ave tried to validate windows to do the updates but it wond let me.
Doesanyone know how to get it to validate. I'm using my own bought copy of
windows that came with the computer when i bought it.

And why, exactly, should the OP have to do this? The OP has not signed
on as a tester or troubleshooter for WGA III. Why can't the OP USE his
or her computer instead of troubleshooting a flawed program for
Microsoft, a program that has no benefit to the user and, due to the
fact that it calls home, can be described as SPYWARE!?

I have had to use the toll free # in the support area, automated or live.

But WGA does work! Soon, all XP installations out there will be
"invalidated".
I laugh when I read that someone "bought their PC from a reputable OEM" and
now it's being called Pirated.
Just how many of those shipped PCs really made it out the door with its'
Product ID secure and private (only to the purchaser).
Knowing human nature (and his/her disdain for his/her employer), it's
probably likely that most Win Product IDs will eventually make it to MSs
blacklist.

It wouldn't surprise me to find an upcoming version of MSs OS to be freely
installed on the PC, but the user would be required to make a monthly usage
payment to Gates to keep the OS running. Notice, I didn't say "running and
secure"!

Your solutions don't work. It did get me to pass the Windows genuine
advantage tests. Why hasn't Microsoft done a fix to the software rather than
make millions of us suffer out here trying to find a solution that is hidden.
The only solution is:

Then re-boot Windows. Does this solve your problem?

This is a link to a later version of 905474 than currently offered by
Windows Update. Windows Update History will not include a record of this
manual installation, although earlier installation attempts for 905474 will
remain in History. The effect of installing this version manually is that
Windows Update will not offer 905474 again until the version offered by
Windows Update is more recent than this one.
