Validation failed

After installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service
Pack 1 (Windows 98, Windows Me) I receive this error:
"Validation failed for VSINIT.DLL".

The update was applied immediately after a clean install
of Win 98 SE, a firewall, antivirus program and Microsoft
office. Everything checked out fine prior to the update.
Any help is appreciated.

Was the anti-virus app disabled during the install of IE6-SP1? Have you
returned to Windows Update after installing IE6-SP1?

This sounds like a problem with Zone Alarm. See this archived thread for
