hello,
our organization bought a pc in march 2005. bought XPPro OEM software at
same time. i installed the OS and
typed the product key on the cd package and activted it with Microsoft and
it was accepted at that time - perfect. i put the cd away and no one had
access to it.
we have not used this computer since and now i want to update Windows, i get
this error from Microsoft.
if it was accepted back when i activated it, and i have not done anything
with this computer since (and no one has used the OS cd), how come now they
say now it is a blocked licence?
if someone decided to use this cd without my knowledge and install the os on
another computer, would microsoft not accept this new install on this other
pc due to the fact that this ID would be in their database as already
activated?
what can i do?
