Validation question

How do you validate a windows xp installation on a standalone, non-connected
machine? I can't install
SP2 and so then I can't install CAD Pro which requires SP2...keeps referring
me to www.howtotell.com which
is less than useful to me. This machine is inside
the prison wall, so the internet is absolutely not an
option.
