Various update issues

A good majority of the user threads in this forum are stating that we are all
having similar problems with various Office Updates (Word, PowerPoint,
OneNote and Outlook to name a few.)

It seems that the comments stated by various MVP’s is that the issues
surround either MS Live Safety Center and System Register or both.

Can Microsoft develop a simple tool or sort this out once and for all?
Repairing, uninstalling Office, looking for backup registers from Live Safety
Center takes time and causes home users concerns dabbling in such areas they
are not familiar with?

For example, I have used MS Live Safety Center since it has been released so
which backup do I go to? The original? What impact does this have restoring a
register months old? A simple tool is all we need.
