someone on here told me how to fix something using a
VBScript. But how do you actually run this "VBSCRIPT"

I have never done this before and have no idea how to
activate.

Hi

Start Notepad. Copy/paste the script text from the newsgroup post
into Notepad.

Save the file (e.g. to the desktop) as file name "fix.vbs" (include
the quotes so Notepad doesn't try to add .txt as file extension,
the file needs to have .vbs as file extension).

To run the file, double click on the fix.vbs file.
