Hi Dan,
Assuming these are in the Messenger application data folder, the .dats are just display
pictures, emoticons that have been saved in each account and the .sqm files are anonymous
usability data (what icons have been clicked the most, etc.). There's no actual IMs in here.
If you want to see the .DAT files, open up Internet Explorer and drag them into the Internet
Explorer window. Almost all but the winks or database files will display this way.
If you're looking for the actual messages, if the message history feature is on they'll be in
the My Documents\My Received Files, then a folder corresponding to her e-mail address and
then the History folder in there.
