Hi,

Very annoying problem:

1. Sign in passport frequently deleted from the sign-in list
2. Winks/emotions are frequently restored to default.

I am using XP SP2, this is a company laptop.

Thanks
\
Wu

Hello Wu,

I am sorry you are having difficulties with Windows Live Messenger. In order
to better assist you, I will need the following information.

What version of Windows Live Messenger are you running?
Do you have the Windows Live ID Signin assistant installed?
What are your credentials (Administrator, Power User, Guest, Limited)
Do you have any adware, spyware blocking software installed?
Do you have any antivirus software installed?

Are you signin to a network profile, on a domain, or is it locally?

Please provide this information, and I will be able to assist you further.

Have a nice day,

Thanks!

The version is 8.0812, but also happened to other old version
I have signing assist installed
I am administrator
I have McAfee virusscan enterprise 8.0 and McAfee Desktop firewall 8.5
installed. No other adware/spyware. I tried to install Microsoft Defender
but failed.
I logon into domain when in office, but most time(99%) I work outside and do
not logon to domain(still use domain name when logon to the PC but no
connection to company local network actually)

Hope these are helpful.

Thanks for your prompt reply,

In that case, I would like you to do the following

Go to your C:\Documents and settings

Then, click on your profile name, example Administrator

Then, go to your Application Data folder

Once in there, click Microsoft

Then click MSN Messenger

Then, delete all folders in there

Then, signon to Windows Live Messenger, sign out, and see if the errors are
still occuring

If they are, please reply to this post

Thanks

Hi,

Not work. After computer restored from Hibernation, the passport is not in
the list again. Typed email address and signed in, I found the winks are
still there this time.
