I have a live account. a while back in outlook it seems like somehow this
account was added. I dont remember. My problem right now is that if I click
a link in a web page to email, it opens up windows live mail in an outlook
type format screen. the problem is it is sending from my yahoo and I've
apparently entered the wrong server information. How do I fix it?

If you go to Tools/Accounts menu item then look for your Yahoo account,
select it then hit the properties button you can change the settings.
Also here, if you wish you can set another account to be your default mail
account.

First of all, US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no
POP access. Windows Live Mail can't access Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...iew/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-14.html

How do you normally send and receive email? We may be able to give
you a workaround that opens your favorite email service when you click
on a MailTo link on a web page.

If you have Office Outlook installed, even though you don't use it, some
Microsoft updates will cause Outlook to set itself as the default mail
program so that when you click a mailto link, an Outlook message
composition window opens INSTEAD of WLM.

If that's the case, you need to reset WLM as your default mail program.

- In Windows Live Mail (WLM) check at Tools, Options, General and make
it the default if it isn't already.

- In Internet Explorer Explorer at Tools, Internet Options, Programs
make sure that WLM is the default e-mail program

- Also, in Windows XP: Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Set Program
Access and Defaults, Custom, Email and select WLM, even if it already
seems to be the default.

- Also, In Vista: Control Panel, Programs, Default Programs, Set Program
Access and Computer defaults. Select WLM, even if it already seems to
be the default.
