OK, first let's get BITS installed and working.
Download and install this update:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Next, click Start, Run, and enter "services.msc" in the Open line.
Check the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) is set to
either Manual or Automatic. If it is set to Disabled then right-click
it, select Properties, and on the General tab change the Startup type:
item to one of the others.
Restart your computer when done with both the above, then give Windows
Update another try.
