Very Exhaustered / windows update issue

In the Address bar = http://v5.windows
update.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?In=en
I am using windows xp-Home edition version 2002
I am also using High speed form eastlink....
I have a firewall from the windows xp
I also have the cd and have installed service pack 2
Iam also the Admin for this computer...

Thanks for your help ...please help me with this

Hi;

OK, first let's get BITS installed and working.

Download and install this update:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Next, click Start, Run, and enter "services.msc" in the Open line.
Check the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) is set to
either Manual or Automatic. If it is set to Disabled then right-click
it, select Properties, and on the General tab change the Startup type:
item to one of the others.

Restart your computer when done with both the above, then give Windows
Update another try.
