I have a Dell Precision M6300 laptop running Vista Ultimate SP1 (32-bit) and
I am very happy with it because everything works perfectly - almost.
The bit that doesn't work properly is IE7. The problems are not "serious"
but very annoying nonetheless.
For some reason, when I click inside a text field in a web page then most
times I am unable to type anything in it. I type away but no characters
appear inside the field until I click in the field again, sometimes 2 or 3
times. Curiously it does respond to the Tab key whereby it moves to the
next field and whenever I enter a field by tabbing into it then typing is
possible immediately. Therefore a "solution" to the problem has been
hitting Tab and then Shift-Tab to move out of and then back into the field
to enable typing in a particular field. Tedious obviously.
The other possibly-related problem is that most times when I try to select
an item in a drop-down list then I need to click twice to get it to actually
select the item.
Both problems do not occur *all* the time but do occur *most* of the time.
There are no other problems with IE7, the mouse, the keyboard or indeed any
other aspect of Vista or the applications running on it.
Anyone know how to resolve these issues?
