Hi,
Lately, my Vista 32 installation has shown a BSOD and after that there is
all sorts of problems arising.
1. System has an obvious problem with disk configuration - in safe mode it
hangs on CRCDISK driver for about 10-15 minutes before going any further. In
Normal mode booting takes awfully long time - over 5 minutes, and overal
disk performance is horrible after that Althought procesor use is no more
than 2% and memory is i no excess either 35% system is very slow in
rtesponse, many times hanging for a minute before completing simple
operations like opening a folder.
2. There is about 1000 errors (literaly 1000) per day relating to Search
service failing to create new catalog, and failing to start.
3. The system complains also about "IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an
IRQ for the device in PCI slot 14, function 0." This goes for devices for a
slots 11-16, in a row.
While researching on the web people claiming all sorts of resolutions to
that problem, ranging from diskonnecting the display for the time when
windows boot, to resetting the Power settings. But I dont think this does
apply for me.
I use Opteron 165 Dual Core on MSI K8N Nvidia NForce4, two SATA Drives in
RAID 0 (on Nvidia RAID) and ATI X1600Pro on PCI. Nothing special - system is
not overclocked so there is no issue with overheating or something like
that.
Any suggestions?
