VERY slow to Respond a Mouse

Hi:
This morning, it's VERY slow to respond a mouse when I click to either
'close' or 'open' upon clicking 'X' at the far top corner of the screen.

Until yesterday, it was no problem by using 'X' to close, open and other
tasks.

One thing I did yesterday was I loaded many, hundreds more of pictures.

Do a clean up and a defrag.
