When online and any kind of pop up window tries to open (i.e. spam, or one
you want, such as on a website with a pop up glossary, for example), the
(pale) yellow bar appears beneath and parallel with the address bar to alert
you (it "drops down"). The pale yellow bar will read "Pop ups were
blocked...Click here for further details" or something like that. If you
right click on it, you can choose to always allow pop ups from this website,
temporarily allow pop ups, etc." If you just want to allow the pop up for
that visit, you can select "temporarily allow," or else use the control key
simultaneously when clicking on a link within the website.
Your choice will depend on if it's a site from which you actually want to
accept pop up windows. If you know you will always want the pop ups (like
the text book web site I mentioned earlier,) you can add the web site to a
list of exceptions (where you added outlook express. The "General" tab before
the "Exceptions" tab is where you turn on the firewall, double check that
"on" is selected.)
Do you have another pop up blocker program running on your system? The SP2
firewall overrides the google pop up blocker on mine.
I might suggest that you read up on the "temporarily allow" option...I'm not
that familiar with it. Maybe you can teach me something!
Good luck.
