How many hundreds/thousands of people have had their computers crashed via
this update.

What is Microsoft doing?

Would be nice if the VIA web site gave us a head up as well.

Absolutly NOTHING my clients can still go to Windows Update and download they
'updates' and kill there laptops. Im been out of work since this morning what
a joke you think someone would AT least read these forms from Microsoft and
remove the updates. Dell tech Support also verified the problem by frying
some laptops in there service dep today.

I just got off the phone with TS support and they are not sure what to do ..
they told me becasue i did not reboot the servers that have this update to
remove via add/remove programs. The units i did reboot on was able to
restore from the last known good configuration. Right now i am looking
through the registry keys to find and remove the pid's that are from that
update... will pass on all that i can when i find it.

Same problem with my machine as well. In the interim, I was able to load the
"Last known good configuration" to get me out the blue screen of death state.
And the second thing that pops up after logging into my company domain is a
message stating, "Vxd_EnableTrackingOnScrollArea could not Load".

????????????

Hi there,

Just Roll back on the driver under device mangar properties from the
specific hardware related to the problem.

Never take drivers from windows update unless you like blue screens

And most important: if it is working fine leave it alone, newer does not
mean better

Best regards,
Michel Denie
