Hi! I've a problem with the video call in windows live messeger 2009. If I
make a video call with a person, who has windows live messenger 8.5, it's
all ok, the videocall works perfectly. But if I call another person, who has
wlm 2009 installed (like me), the video call doesn't work. My webcam image
doesn't appear, instead there is an image like if i haven't a webcam. I
tried with a lots of people but there is always this problem. If I only show
my webcam video, and not make a videocall (from the button), it works.
Thanks

Greetings Angela,

I don't have a specific solution for you (besides downgrading), but I would be helpful to
know which webcam (model and manufacturer) you're using. Messenger uses your webcam in
different ways and obviously the "new way" in 2009 isn't working with your specific camera.

It also might be helpful to verify you have the latest drivers for the webcam.

I have a integrated webcam. My laptop is Compal FL90, I only know that the
webcam is Sonix and 2.0 Megapixel. I've installed the latest drivers (.vers
5.8.9.2 from compal site) and I've tried to reinstall them too. Yesterday I
made a video-audio configuration and I selected none webcam; I video called,
after I made again a video-audio configuration, and in video option I
selected the webcam. I tried to make a video call and it worked, but I
noticed that the video quality was worse. The next video calls work, but
after I restart the pc and I have to do the previous procedure.
Thanks
Angela

I can't get the video call to work with the new version either. I used it
perfectly before this.
