Hi,

I'm still having trouble during video chats.
The video quality is good, but the sound is terrible.
(intermittent, garbled, words are repeated and so on)
The voice chat however works good, perfect quality !

this is what the connection tab learns me:
(sorry, it is translated from another language)
__________________________________________________ _______

At this moment you got a direct connection with .NET Messenger service

You are connected via a cable network connection to the internet

You are connected with internet via an UPnP for a port limitted NAT.
(administrator)

I learned from this group that it is best to use UPnP, and in my modem
(speedtouch 510) UPnP is "on". (some ports are configured with NAT as
well, server, emule, remote admin and so on)

How do i know that UPnP is working good on this side, so i can get a direct
connection to other people? (thus not a relay-server in between?
Is there anything i can do more to inprove the sound during video chat ?

Thanks in advance,

heian

Greetings,

You should be able to make direct connections with your contacts.

However, if the contact you're trying to reach isn't allowing incoming connections or is
beyond a proxy server, then you still won't be able to establish a direct connection with
them and therefore the relay will be used.

Given the general bandwidth in the Netherlands, you certainly should be getting a generally
good experience with most broadband users (with direct connection capabilities).
