Is Video Chat encrypted and secure

Does anyone know if the video chat feature is secure. By secure, can anyone
answer the following items:

1. Is the video chat a point-to-point connection with no middleman or server
between the chatting parties?
2. Is the feed encrypted (like skype does)?

1. It can be, but it also can use a relay server when a direct connection can't be
established.
2. Nope.
