Video Conference Audio Problem

Last night I video conferenced from Nebraska with a contact in Florida. The
audio behaved oddly. My window indicated my audio was going out by
indicating varying volume as I spoke although the indication remained at
about 1/2 volume when I was not speaking. My contact did not receive my
audio. When we connected for an audio only chat, my audio indication was
normal and my contact received my audio. Changing the mic did not change the
situation. When I checked the audio/video adjustment wizard, everything
checked out OK. Does this sound like a transmission problem or a reception
problem?
