video incompatible with WLM

I have upgraded to the WLM and when I video with my mother who has MSN 7.5
all works well but when I go to another friend who also have MSN 7.5 I get a
message that I cannot video because it it no compatible? Any suggestions
other than having everyone update (some do not want to do so)
