Video Resolution Changes after Sleep Mode

I have Vista Home Basic. We have 2 users setup (Me & My wife). When I come
in to get on the computer...it has gone into sleep mode while signed in to my
wife's profile. So I wake the computer....log out of my Wife's profile
.....after it has logged out the goes black for a second and comes back on
with the resolution changed...to make everything look huge. So I have to log
into my account and log back out to make it go back to normal. This is a
brand new computer so It should not be the Video card....and also I haven't
had any other problems at all....this thing has been running like a top.
After all the drama and Hype I heard about Vista acting all crazing... I
expected more crazyness. I guess I should keep my mouth shut and deal with
just my one little..kinda annoying...but workable issue I would appreciate
any help. Thanks in advance!

It could be the video card, which brand, model is it? Have you checked for
updated drivers? Also, is this a notebook or desktop PC?

It is a new Desktop Compaq. The video is built in NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE
nForce 430 Chipset. Motherboard is Asus AM2 AMD Athlon X2

I went to NVIDIA's website and they did not show an update for it...they
told me that I needed to go to the manufacturers website for support. I
emailed HP and I am waiting for a response...the problem that I have had with
manufacturers tech support is that after they have asked you "Is you monitor
plugged in?" or "Please, restart you computer" 100 times, they say, oh we can
figure it out...just send it in.
I have a friend who went though that and it turns out that it was a software
issue. They were trying to put the 3rd hard drive in his machine. Anyway.

Try downloading and installing the latest NVIDIA ForceWare driver package for
Windows Vista from the following link, it applies to all NVIDIA GeForce 6, 7,
and 8 series graphics cards including the 6150SE:

Thanks I'll try that. For some reason I could not ever get to that point
before...however I was looking for this update before 11/6 so maybe that's

They sent me an update because I put in a Tech Support Request...however it
did not update the video driver to the latest one. So I used the update from
NVIDIA and it did not stop the problem. So I guess I can try the HP update
but I don't know how it will help because it's an older driver.
