How can I get videos to show on my screen saver? The setup shows that is
will do so but mine omits the videos and only shows the photos.
Thanks,
Nancy

Create a shortcut to:
"C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos"
in your %userprofile%\Videos folder, and set it to the Photos screen saver
settings path. Note that this works because the folders are set to the
filetype 'video'

Hi Mark,

I had a major problem with my laptop and did a full system recovery by
accident. Now I have no screen saver at all. Can you help me get it back?
Oh, and I'm not sure if you are telling me that I can only see videos if I
have my picture files in that particular folder or not. I thought it would
work with the personal photo folder I had created. Is that not the case?

Thanks,
Nancy

SFC will probably bring back the screen saver. A video folder must be
defined as that type (video) for the Photos screen saver to work.
Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop

I am trying to do the SFC test but I can't. I am following Microsoft's
directions but I never get the prompt to run as administrator, which I must
be since I own this laptop. Then I put in the command and it says I must be
administrator running a console session ... whatever that means.
Thanks,
Nancy

Rightclick a Command Prompt icon on the Start menu, and click 'run as

Thanks for your help. I am going to be updating to SP1 tomorrow. Maybe
that will take care of it. If it doesn't then I'll try this once again.
Right now I don't have access to the laptop. But I will have my turn
tomorrow. :-)

Amazingly the screen saver was working this morning. I have no idea why.
Except maybe some more Windows updates helped. AND I have the video feature
as well. It can't be from shutting down and restarting because I had done
that before. Who knows what goes on. Thank you so much for all the help.

Hi Mark,
I don't know why I had the screen saver in the morning yesterday but lost it
again as soon as I installed SP1. I am back to no screen saver again. I did
the system file check but when I went to the link it shows the instructions
are not for Vista Home Premium 32 bit, which is what I have. Is there a
step by step procedure for my setup?
Thank you,
Nancy
