How to view list of downloaded XP updates? (icon not on taskbar)

I've set my XP to download updates only, bet after downloading the icon
disappeares from the taskbar. How can I get this back so I can select which
updates I will install? When I shutdown my system XP starts to install the
downloaded updates but hat's not what I want.
