* Viewing pictures before you click them *

I optimized my computer for music purposes and now when I open up
Picutre folder, I have to actually click the picture to see it. I hav
a huge collection and this isn't very practical.

What setting do I have to change so that I can see the picture in th
thumbnail before I click it

When using Explorer to look at the folder have you tried Views - one of the
icon sizes? Any one of those (except small icons) should show you
thumbnails.

changing view size does not work

Have a look at folder options/views under advanced settings, make sure
"always show icons,never thumbnails" is unchecked
