I also have downloaded the update # 816093 for Microsoft VM
It downloads and when installing I will get an error message saying that
'this setup will only upgrade over an existing version of the Microsoft VM'
I rooboot as instructed and then there it is again....wants me to
install.....and it won't. If I hide that update, my security monitor tells me
I am at risk by not installing the update.
What gives ??

The MSJVM will be supported until Dec, 2007. MS is encouraging Users to
migrate to the Sun java platform.
To remove all vestiges of the MSJVM -

Sun has just released version 6 of their JRE :
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Click the Download button next to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6
Put a mark next to Accept license agreement and then download the
Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language package.
Save it, close the browser, and then install it.
*BEWARE* of any attempt to install UNneeded toolbars or desktop search
crap during the installation.

Follow MowGreen's reply ! ! ! But genuinely follow it. I did resolve my
issues after re-reading hispost. (MowGreen's post, that is) Pay special
attention to this part: ... It IS WHERE I MADE MY MISTAKE. P.S. Don't forget
to be logged in on your system as the Administrator. I don't know if this
maters but it seems as though it should.
