There such apparent inconsistencies when using various configurations of
VPC. For example, if you have more than 4GB installed on a 64-bit machine,
VPC will not allow you to set a vm's memory above about 3.7GB because of a
limitation in VPC (not related to the usual limitations involving devices,
etc). It doesn't matter that ample ram is available to the host. If all
you are concerned about is 512 v 510 I don't think I would spend a lot of
time on it.
