Anyone know: would "Kaspersky Internet Security" conflict with "Super
AntiSpyware?" My concern is that two anti spy modules might conflict.

Two anti-virus programs will conflict.

Two or more Anti-spyware programs won't conflict.

Below is what I use.

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Above is a link to Avast Free 4 Home Anti-Virus
It is low resource using, free and Vista 32bit and 64bit compatible.
Only have one (1) anti-virus installed; more than 1 can cause conflicts.

For Spyware removal, use the above link to “Spybot Search & Destroy 1.5.2”
Download it, install it, update it, immunize your system and scan your
System with it.

For a non-scanning, but running in the background, Program to STOP Spyware
being downloaded to your Computer, use SpywareBlaster 4, available at the
above link.

Two AV's *may* conflict, it is generally recommended to only run one. The
same applies to software firewalls.

Multiple AS's *may* in rare cases also conflict, if two or more are
real-time protection programs. Should you experience problems, run only one
real-time AS and scan with other programs every now and then.

I have not heard of any conflicts between those two programs, but you should
seek an answer to that question at Kaspersky's support or forum pages:

I use NOD32 for my AV and I used the paid version of AVG AntiSpyware
7.5. AVG offered to upgrade my AVG AntiSpyware to their new AVG Antivirus
8.0 free of charge, which includes antispyware as well, so I decided to take
their offer. My original intent was to disable the AVG Antivirus and only
run it occasionally, at which time I would have temporarily disabled my NOD
32 AV. I decided to run the AVG Antivirus along with the NOD32 AV, running
both in real time just to see if they would coexist and operate properly.
I had both of them loading at startup and again, both running real time
AV protection. There were no conflicts whatsoever and I was quite surprised
by this. Startup and shutdown times remained the same. However, I had no
intention of running both of them at the same time. I only wanted to see
what would happen.
Still, I don't advise running two AV programs at the same time because
as you have been advised there are usually conflicts. Actually, some AV
programs will not install if another AV program is detected, even if the
other AV program is disabled. This is a good thing and it is for your
benefit.
I could never get my AVG products to accept the license keys so I
decided to simply uninstall the AVG and never use anything from Grisoft
again. I don't need the AVG AntiSpyware anyway as my NOD32 contains
antispyware protection.
