virus/firewall etc.

Help

I have XP SP2. I am a senior novice. I have Windows Firewall and
Defender and AVG - Zone alarm (the free one) and Spybot - search and destroy.
Is there any point in having AVG?? Should I have all these??? or would
something else work better? Thanks from downunder (Australia)

You definitely need AVG as it is the only anti-virus. Zone alarm
should probably turn off the Windows Firewall as running 2 firewalls
will unnecessarily slow down your system. I wowuld probably want some
other anti-spyware (Other than Spybot S&D and Windows defender but I
would not have more than one giving real-time protection; I would use
the others just for periodic manual scans).
