Once your PC is infected with a computer virus or worm, your
computer becomes compromised and nothing less than a reinstallation
of the operating system is going to work. Yes, you can try
to scan and eliminate the initial virus, but you generally
cannot undo the damage caused by the virus to the system
files. You'll need to reformat your hard drive and then
reinstall your Windows operating system.

Cleaning a Compromised System

After performing a clean install, consider installing a good
antivirus program, such as Windows OneCare. You can
try it absolutely FREE for 90 days.

Try 'this link.' (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/sdfix.php) I
removes whatever trojan has caused your system to deny you access t
various parts of your system, and restores the registry to its defaul
settings, allowing you to get back all admin control. A customer of min
had an identical problem and this tool fixed it completely. I highl
recommend it

the link has issues the warning
"I do not recommend using the tool without guidance from a qualifie
malware removal specialist!"

i know that this is just a disclaimer, but is there any chance of i
having adverse effects on my computer?
the programme on the link doesnt explain much and i am a littl
cautious about downloading programmes i have never heard of

me and my friend figgured it out (mainly him and google)

but the solution was through "run" running

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\Syste
/v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

which resents the disabled taskmanager to being able to work...o
something like that
before this you need to activate reg edit...which i cant remember ho
to do.

I never noticed any ill effects from running this tool. You do have t
run it in Safe Mode, but that's it. There's always a CHANCE of somethin
going wrong, given how it sets your registry entries to default, but th
chance is minimal, and very unlikely to do any more damage than ha
already been done to your computer

I tried to download the file and Avast found a Trojan in it.
