Vist and JetDirect

Hello everyone.

I currently run 3 computers using XP to a printer via a TCP/IP address
using a HP JetDirect box. I've recently added a window Vista computer and
have set it up in the same way as the XP computers via the TCP/IP address
but can't get the Vista computer to print to the network. I will sometimes
get an 'interactive message' that tells me that the spooler was unable to
connect with the printer.

Anyone with ideas on why the Vista won't print to the JetDirect box? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you install the Vista drivers (and probably the ones for Jet Direct,
too) on the Vista computer? If not, go to HP's website and get them.
Since you didn't mention which printer model you have, I couldn't look
it up for you but you can easily do this yourself by going to www.hp.com
and clicking on their "Download Software and Drivers" link.

Thanks for the feed back. In answer to your question, I did use the
downloaded vista driver for the printer (HP PCS 1500 Series) but there was
no 2007 driver for the JetDirect 175x (or any others). I spoke with the
JetDirect people who were very pleasant but told me they were behind the 8
ball with Vista and have not udated drivers for the JetDirect products out
there or have not developed any vista JetDirect products yet.

Then there you are, unhappily. Without drivers, no JetDirect, no printer.
