I am trying to install Vista Beta 2 on a machine that I previously had
Windows XP running on the machine without any issue. When I ran the install
from the DVD (which I had previously used on another machine without any
issue) the install process begain and I got to the colored background in the
install and an error message poped up. The following is the information that
was displayed.
"The instruction at 0x753db0ba referenced memory at 0x753db0ba. The required
data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000001.
Click on OK to terminate the program"
When I hit enter the dialog closes and the machine reboots. I left the error
message up and started searching to see if anyone else had seen this (without
much success) and it appears that the install continued in the background. I
have continued through the install (and lets say it was very difficult to do
with this error message in front of everything and only because I had been
through it befored did it make it so I could kind of navigate my way). I got
the install to go through the process up to the point where it was copying
the files and partially through it I got a Blue Screen indicating the
following.
Standard BSOD text with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, more standard text and then
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x2822F47F,0xD000001B,0x00000000,0x8BC4C58B).
Not sure if that is even helpful.
Anyway to my question, is there a way to figure out why the first error
message appeared. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did they
resolve the issue.
Thanks for any help!
