Since installing Vista the on my laptop the ‘C’ drive (25G) is now almost
full. I have searched around the drive to see what could be using the memory
- all my documents and files are saved to ‘D’ drive and I have only a couple
of programs installed which are bog standard programs requiring little
memory. I can’t what could be taking up the memory other than Vista. Could
this be the case? If so how do I resolve it or is Vista so large that it
need this space (which I can’t believe!)?

any responses greatly appreciated

Hi,

It's not memory so much as drive space. Memory generally refers to the
amount of installed ram. Things that can chew up your drive space fast are
the paging file, system restore points, the hibernate file, and windows
updates. Frankly, 25GB is a bit small for a Vista installation. I would look
at getting a replacement drive of better capacity.

A 25Gb hard drive is not large enough. Whatever you try to do, you will
always be struggling for space. For optimum hard drive performance, there
needs to be between 20 and 25% free space.

Get a larger hard drive..
