I am in the throws of a nervous breakdown, but from reading many of th
posts on here, am hoping that you may have come across this before an
will be able to *save me from slaying myself with a blunt instrument*!
I have a newish Vista PC (4GB, loads of disk etc...) and am runnin
2007 Office 12 Bus Edition.
Until recently I was ecstatic as the system worked like a drea
(controversial??), however, around the time of the .NET auto update
few weeks ago, I lost the use of right and left mouse buttons fo
"select", "copy" and "past" in Word!
This problem doesnt manifest itself with any other apps I have loaded
either within office12 or from 3rd parties.
- I use an optical mouse but have tried a cable mouse - same affect
- Ive uninstalled and reinstalled Office12 with a reboot - strange tha
one. The new install still had many of the old files in it ... so tha
may not have worked, even though it said it had!
- (following someone's advice on here) I checked the Event Viewer an
got this output...

am convinced its got something to do with my challenge as the onl
thing I tried to do in Word was get the mouse going.
(Incidentally, I've rebooted my optical mouse (no joy), and the mous
scroll wheel works great in Word still!)
