Now have auto updates set to install when i tell it
If i do a install all updates 30 plus now computer will go into loop and
sutdown configure up dates around and around (all night once) till i doe an
F8 and get into restore
Have had some success at just installing one at a time. but not all will.
Also had some success at manually installing from windows web site but aut
up dates does not reconize this and it remains on list one that has to be
installed so i try and reinstall it thinking that since it is already
installed it should be no proble updates comes back and says update failed
again

I had one update fail that hosed by sound card driver, which I rolled back
to another version of the driver. The Update kept telling about this update
that I didn't want. So, I went to the Update center, selected *view the
updates*, and right-clicked the one giving me problems and selected Hide so
that it wouldn't appear in the list as update that was going to be applied.

You can try it, just make sure you have the Vista FW enabled. But really,
the router has nothing to do with the computer, Windows Update, and
installing updates to the Vista O/S. It's not the cause of the failure. You
might want to shutdown the AV and any other software of that nature that can
be running to see if you can get an update to be successfully applied.

Also, you can go to the Windows Update and view the failed update,
right-click it and view details. There is also some trouble shooting
information you can look at in this area too about the failed update.
