I am using a brand new HP laptop (pavillion HDX) with VISTA 64 and Office
2007. When working on outlook e-mail, randomly while typing in outlook, my
computer goes immediately to sleep. after about a minute I can wake it up,
but it is very irritating. I have reset my power settings to "never Sleep"
and also flashed the bios as suggested by HP, but neither have helped. I
also have no problem with hanging or program failures upon restart, just this
strange outlook/vista narcolepsy.

Do you use Disk Cleanup?
The hybrid sleep feature and the hibernation feature in Windows Vista may
become unavailable after you use the Disk Cleanup Tool :

I have a simiar issue with my HDX. Not necessarily with Oulook '07 but
definitely with the sleep/hibernation issue. Mine used to occur after 2
hours if inactivity even though i've verified my settings and I did not run
disk clean up.

I noticed by disabling some CyberLink services that Quickplay use for tv
recording and "watching" and downgrading from the 4GB of memory I bought for
it back to the original 2GB that seems to have fixed it.
