Vista ACPI Issue

I upgraded my XP SP2 to Vista Home Premium about 6+ months ago (sometime in
March). I came home last Wednesday (10/3) to a reboot loop and my system was
suddenly not ACPI compliant for Vista. Couldn't repair with Vista or
anything. ACPI is enabled in the BIOS and always has been and I've upgraded
my BIOS to the latest version and it still won't install.

Any ideas why Vista would suddenly no longer work or install after working
great for 6+months

Hi Matt. I'm also receiving a message about ACPI incompatibility.
However, in my case, the error is preventing me from installing Vista at
all. I'm not sure why yours would work for 6 months, then just start
popping up that error. From the research I've done, a bios update might
solve the problem. I updated mine by downloading the new bios from the
Toshiba website, but this didn't fix my problem. I continued to get the
error message. I've also read that you can work around the error by
disabling ACPI in the bios. I cannot disable ACPI in my Toshiba bios
because the option isn't there. If you figure anything out, please let
me know. Thanks.

one frequent cause of "poping up" errors is automatic driver updates -
either via Windows Update or other automated updaters. Try to roll back
drivers that might be at fault - ex. see installed updates in Windows
Update.
