Strangest thing I have experienced in a LONG time.

Leave machine on and the monitor kind of gets disconnected.

Only way to restart is the BRS, and that sends my 500 GB Raid into
"recovery mode" which then takes 6 hours to complete.

Surely this is not what Micro$oft had in mind for a home
computing environment. When is windows going to be as dependable
as my refridgerator? I don't have to RECOVER my stove every time I turn off
the electricity.

I guess I am just expecting that in 25 years we would have IMPROVED this
experience, but DOS 3.1 was better at some things than Vista ...

Waiting for Windows 7 ... HURRY UP MS !!!

Sounds like its trying to sleep or something. Turn off all the power
saving options in Control Panel.

Yeah because 500 GB Raid is SO common in "home computing environments"!

Yeah man. DOS 3.1 was *so* good at running on quad core, 8 GB RAM machines,
running dozens of apps and thousands of threads!

I prefer that Microsoft take their time with Windows 7 and don't rush out a
half baked bread.

I don't want to buy a "final" OS only to find that I'm actually being a beta
tester!

Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen?

If you post specific problems and error messages you can probably get the
help you need.

... Big Red Switch ... You must be a young whippersnapper to not know that
one.
Power Switches used to be generally Red.

WELL, IF I HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT TO YOU.

I was hoping that other people had this problem. Isearched but didn't find
it in the forums, so I opened this post in hopes that I could get some help.
If all you are want to do is snipe at MY POST, JUST MOVE ALONG, ok?

Thanks Bob ... Now I won't have to tolerate your dribble !

Anyone else able to help with this very specific problem?

"Leave machine on and the monitor kind of gets disconnected.

Only way to restart is the Big Red Switch, and that sends my 500 GB
Raid into "recovery mode" which then takes 6 hours to complete. "
