I have three Vista machines, Ultimate, Bussiness, Enterprise, and none of
them will auto update. I get the icon in the task bar that says updates are
avalialbe, but they don't auto install, and yes I do have the Install updates
automatically turned on.

Any Ideas?

Scott

I have the same problem. I have upgraded my pc from XPSP2 to VISTA BUSINESS.

2 issues -

a)I keep getting a pop-up "Restart your computer to finish installing
important updates", a small window in the right above the systray. I have
been restarting several times..... but it keeps nagging.

b) I went to the 'Windows Update' under control panel to manually
update/install. On the left-side menu, I notice 'check for updates' is
disabled. So, I can not even do the updates manually, right?

Please help me wit info to fix the (a) nagging window and (b) enable the
'check updates' option (1st option or menu item on the left side.) when you
open Winows Update window

Thanks.

Check to see WHEN auto updates are set to install. Vista will download
updates ANYTIME they're available but will only install at the set time. I
believe the default is at 4:00AM. If your computer isn't on at 4AM that
could be why they're not installing.

OK... if someone could help me I'd be most grateful.... I'm working on a
Windows Vista Premium machine... it is an HP Pavillion Media Center....

I keep getting a pop-up "Restart your computer to finish installing
important updates" and every time I restart my computer it comes up again
and again... well... I restarted my computer about 35 times for an hour
straight... I thought maybe it would get all the updates it needed, since I
got my computer about a week ago... I manually installed every update I
could on my computer for both HP and for Windows... and as mentioned I have
been restarting several times..... but it keeps nagging.

My computer is left on all night long so it is not because it is waiting for
the proper time... Any other ideas?? Can someone PLEASE help me....

Thanks,
Justin
