I bought a Seagate External HD, 360G and installed it on my laptop with
Vista Home Premium. I have yet to save anything on it and according to
Properties there are 89G being used. The only thing on it are a few KBs of
the OEM stuff that came with it. It is NTFS.

Can anybody tell me what is up with that?

p..s. most of the vista newsgroups I subscribe to in Windows Mail are coming
up "not available". Are they down permanently?

Thanks,

frog

External drive might be set to backup the laptop drive at a certain time or
date. Check up on the external drive's options for "backup" by right
clicking it in the computer section, then "properties". also look for
"seagate manager" in the start menu of the laptop.
