Hello,

I have a HTC Tornado (aka Orange SPV C600) which is recognised by Vista
Ultimate when plugged in as a mobile adaptor appears in the device manager.
However WMDC does not recognise it and so sync is not possible. I have AKU
2.3 ROM. All firewalls and antivirus software are off and problem persists. I
have flashed teh ROm and done various hard resets to no avail. I am not
running one care. Any ideas on what might be the issue? My service provider
says "Windows Vista? Never heard of it."

Hi Matt,

Did you uninstall all previous versions of Windows Mobile Device Center and
Windows Mobile Device Center Driver before installing our RTM build? Also,
can you verify for me that your device shows up in Computer and is browsable?

Thanks,
Jane Ly

Hi Jane,

I have used the control panel uninstal to remove previous versions of WMDC.
I went through the cycle of install / uninstall several times. I installed
the OEM vista utltimate as a new install. I was not a beta tester.

The mobile does not show up in my computer and is not browsable.

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

Can you tell me what event log ID you are getting? Here are instructions on
how to do that: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/wmdc/event-log.htm

Hi Matt,

It looks like your RNDIS adapter is encountering some issues. Your phone
has two USB modes. Please switch to the serial USB mode. Here are the
instructions to do so:

1. Start
2. Settings
3. Connections
4. USB to PC
5. Uncheck ‘Enable advanced network functionality’

Hope that helps,
Jane Ly

Hi Jane,

The USB serial mode choice is disabled by my mobile service provider - the
USB to PC option is not present on my connections menu.

Regards

Is it possible to contact your mobile operator for the tool?

They do not support the USB serial mode choice in this or future ROM updates.

Can you bring up a command window, type in "ipconfig" and reply with your
output?

Thanks.
