Vista - backup/Restore Help?

I purchased a Toshiba laptop last month which came with Vista Home Premium.
I upgraded to Ultimate (online).

Now I would like to reformat the drive (or replace with a bigger drive), and
install a clean version of Vista Ultimate (with no Toshiba preinstalled
software).

Please advice how can I preform this task?

Other than the Vista Ultimate media, where can I find the product ID or key?
Or is there a existing license file that I can use for the new installation.

DY.

You said you purchased your Vista Ultimate license online, so you should
have received a key by email or if you purchased a Retail Upgrade of
Ultimate it should be inside the box when you open it. If you plan on
formatting, simply boot from the Windows Vista Ultimate DVD and you will be
presented with the choice format before installing the software.

Again, you need a new Product Key/License to install Vista Ultimate.

I don't recall I have to enter a key (online). But I did receive the email
confirmed I purchase the Vista Ultimate (upgrade). Now since I already
activate my Vista license, after the reinstall do I have to activate Vista
again?

You will need to activate the Vista Ultimate license since its separate from
the Vista Home Premium regardless its an upgrade license. Can you contact
the online service from which you purchased the license to find out where
the product key for the Vista Ultimate key you purchased online?

Yes, you will have to re-activate after reinstallation. When you try the
online activation, it should tell you that your product key is already in
use, and give you a phone number to call to activate. Call that number and
go through the process, which may fail. Stay on the line. Eventually a
live person should come on the phone and help you with the activation.

If you used the "easy upgrade" option the key was entered during the upgrade
for you.

Use this and simply print, or write down (carefully) the key and, well,
that's it. :-)
