Already running Vista home

I have the same problem upgrading Vista Basic to Vista Premium

copying windows files -check mark
gathering files- check mark
Expanding files- check mark
Installing feathures and updates-check mark
Completing upgrade reboots once and continues upgrade

just at Completing upgrade Seems like it almost done Message pop's up,

"windows could not configure one or more system components to install window
restart the computer and then restart installation"
reboots and rolls back to Vista basic

Toshiba laptop
1.6 mhz
2gb ram
80gb hd
vista basic
model:A135-S4656

I have disabled everything in MSCONFIG
No anti virus (unistalled it)
turned user control off

I'm on 6th time trying to upgrade
I get this same message everytime , has anyone figured this out yet ?

Hi,

Look under C:\Windows\Logs\DPX at the setup logs for clues as to what went
wrong. You may need to run notepad as administrator to open these files.

Same problem here, have tried 5 times to upgrade with no success. Computer
manufacturer says call Microsoft. Microsoft says call manufacture. Nobody
seems to wanna help, but somebody is getting rich on the $80 plus I spent.
Has anybody figured out a fix yet?

Emachine T-5082
3.02 ghz
1 gb Ram
160 gb Hard Drive
Vista Basic

My log files read basically the same as Ben's does, I definitely can't read
or understand what it means. Does anybody know? So I spent $80 for an upgrade
that I cant get to work. Would hate to spend $59 more for support and then
still not have a solution... I should have stayed with XP.

I have exactly the same problem. Bought Anytime DVD to upgrade to Home
Premium so I can run Photoshop CS3.

I have a Dell Dimension E521 desktop with 3G of RAM.

Tried twice to install Home Premium upgrade. 2nd time after
downloading/installing all available WIndows updates.

This is a real rip-off. No one to help and no solution anywhere.

Any help much appreciated.

Titus
