Hi:
Now I am running my Windows Vista Beta 1 (Build 5112) over VMWare.
In my first attempt, I had a problem when doing direct installation on my
hardware (Dual Boot) and I could not finish the installation of Vista.
(error: It cannot find HAL.DLL or something of the sort).
My hardware is and Dell Inspiron B120 (Notebook) with 512 Mb (DDR2) but the
Virtual Machine configuration use 276 Mb and only 10Gb (Used 4 Gb of 10).
I think that the problem maybe:
1 - noncompatibility with restore system of my Dell (Symantec Pc Restore for
Dell). The HDD have first hide partition (FAT), partition for OS and hide
partition for the restore image (compatible with GHOST).
2 - noncompatibility with BIOS of Dell.
But when I test over VMWare I could install without problems. The only
problems later of installation were the installation of a antivirus (with
AVG 7.1.375 Server Edition, error on NTFS.SYS and blue screen) and
noncompatibility with the audio Drivers (with VMWare Tools). I'm installa
MSN Messenger 7.5.0324 without problem
You could test it?
I would like to listen to your experiences about Vista over VMWare, Virtual
PC or other software of Virtual Machine of OS.
Excuse me for my poor English skill.
Thank you.
