Vista is beyond belief

Here we are in 2008 and I can't quite believe the misery I'm still
having with the latest operating system from Microsoft.

I went for Vista, not that I really had much choice, because some low
lifes came into our house and robbed us of our lap tops, mobile phones
and my car - which they used to try to smash into a cinema's cash
point machine.
When I bought my new Dell they did allow me to go for XP but only just
and only on a machine a didn't fancy.

So, it was into the brave new world of Vista for me.

Feels like I've been robbed all over again.

Here's just some of my grumbles after three months of frustration.

1) Stupid backup. How thoughtful of Microsoft to completely ruin their
first pretty decent OS-based back up system in XP with the brain-dead
version we now have. No option to chose which files to back up. The
target machine has to be Vista too. Completely useless.

2) Access control irritation. Every time a click a short cut on my
desk top I get a message warning me that something is trying to run a
program. Duh!! Microsoft - I KNOW!!! It's ME! After I click "OK" I
then get another message most often telling me that the short cut
couldn't find the target, even though it did. Great!! Just makes you
feel so good.

3) It's so slow. Every now and then, without warning, it'll just go
off in a big huff. It says "Not responding" like some teenager in a
sulk and that silly circle keeps spinning and the screen goes opaque -
just to annoy you, it seems. When you open up a file dialog it seems
to take forever - as if's checking every computer in the world just in
case.

4) Some programs just don't work any more - so wooopidoo - I've got to
spend more money upgrading otherwise fine programs to new, dodgy
version too.

It's not all bad news. I can, at last, now see (partially) through the
title bar of any window I have openned. I was waiting for that feature
for so long I can't tell you.

The designers of this operating system should be forced to account for
themselves publicly on YouTube videos so that if anyone ever sees them
walking down the street they can hurl the abuse at them they deserve.

Please whine like a dog!

Dogs can't drive. So, you don't deserve to be behind any wheel.

Why can't the person whine like a dog back to XP? Why must he run with
his tail between his legs over to Ubuntu, like a dog?

Don't listen to Kevin. He is our vista.general group retard. If you don't
like Vista (and many here don't), it would be better to return to XP. On
the same hardware, XP is much faster than Vista. Once the Vista Service
Pack 1 is released in March, there might be quite a few things fixed with
Vista, it just might be tolerable for you.

If not, NEVER get Ubuntu. If you don't like Vista, you will HATE Ubuntu.
It is a pile.
